Obituary for HERRING

Thelma M. Herring, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on January 12, 2004. She was born on February 14, 1916 in Lindsey, Oklahoma. Thelma moved to Los Alamos from Canadian, Texas in 1951 and spent nearly 50 years there before coming to Rio Rancho. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening, where her gardens won her numerous ribbons in many competitions. She will be deeply missed. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Herring and brother Cecil Cooper. She is survived by her two sons, Don Morrow and wife, Delores of Rio Rancho, Charles D. Morrow and wife JoAnn of Glen Rose, TX; brother, Maynor Cooper and wife, Ruth of Cameron, TX; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2004 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Sunrise Funeral Options (2400 Southern Blvd. in Rio Rancho). A Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rio Rancho Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 4210 Sabana Grande Ave. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124.
