Walter Simpson, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, died suddenly at UNM Hospital January 9, 2004 from complications of a stroke. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Colleen Simpson; five sons, Gary Simpson and wife Marianne, Richard Simpson, Randy Simpson and wife Leta, Les Simpson and fiancee, Patricia Kincaid, Kevin Simpson and wife, Chelle; two daughters, Cindy Turner and husband, Harold, Elizabeth Hayes and husband, Robert. Walter had 15 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2004 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Randy Simpson, Les Simpson, Kevin Simpson, James Downey, Jason Downey, and Robert Hayes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Simpson and Jeremy Simpson.
