Obituary for LAUFFENBURGER

Arthur Leo Lauffenburger died Saturday, January 10, 2004 from complications of cancer. He was born February 6, 1932 in Pasadena, CA and moved to San Francisco Bay area in 1945. After graduating from high school and junior college he enlisted in the USN during the Korean conflict where he was stationed aboard the submarine USS Cusk. Following his service enlistment he returned to work at GTE Lenkurt, married his high school sweetheart and settled in Redwood City to raise his family of three children. His 35 year dedication advanced him from a production worker to a manufacturing manager where he was transferred to Albuquerque in 1972. He was a 32nd degree mason and an avid sportsman, with a passion for hunting, fishing, motorcycling, flying and tennis. An early retirement enabled him to enjoy motorcycling, both dirt and touring, servicing BMW motorcycles and a day did not go by without a game of tennis. He is preceded in death by his son, Arthur; and daughter, Sarah. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia; daughter, Winnie and her husband, Glen Comyford; grandson, Justin Comyford; granddaughter, Brandy Crowder and her husband, Nathan. He was a wonderful friend and a caring person who was always there to help others. He left a legacy of wonderful and happy memories and will be missed by all that knew him. Cremation has taken place and at his request, a gathering will be held in his honor at the family home January 25, 2004 at 1:00 p.m.
