Obituary for ROMERO

Herman G. Romero born in Jarales and most recently lived in Albuquerque for the last 60 years, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2004. Herman was preceded in death by his mother, Juana Maria; father, Enrique Romero; brother, Manuel A. Romero and his sister, Maria. Herman was employed by the Welfare Department as a case worker in the Belen office in Valencia County for a year. He also worked for the Employment Security Commission of New Mexico in Albuquerque where he held several positions. He retired from the state after 30 years of service. He is survived by a brother, Bennie H. Romero of Jarales; three sisters, Stefie Torres of Albuquerque, Florella Sanchez of Belen, and Annie R. Gabaldon of Los Chavez; sister-in-law, Carmen Romero of Santa Clara; several nieces and nephews; grandnieces and nephews; and several great-great grand nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, January 14, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass will be held on January 14, 2004 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, 101 N. Tenth St., Belen, NM 87002, with Father Mark Honhart officiating. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of: Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave SE 842-8800
