Mathew Michael Leon, 17, a lifetime resident of Rio Rancho, died on January 6, 2003. He is survived by his mother, Linda Stiker of Rio Rancho; step-father, William Stiker of Rio Rancho; maternal grandparents, John and Mary Leon of Albuquerque; paternal grandmother, Jane Stiker of Naperville, Illinois; aunts and uncles, John Leon and wife, Karen of Albuquerque, Sal Unale and wife, Anna of Placitas, NM, Lisa Leon and Michael Fulton of Rio Rancho, Kim Whitman of Albuquerque, Jim Almand and wife, Sara of Santa Fe, NM, Andy Silva and wife Cheryl, Sandra Almand of Albuquerque, John Stiker of San Diego and Elizabeth Stiker and husband, Joe O'Hara of Chicago, Illinois; cousins, Ryan and Kyle Leon, Salvador Unale, Andrea Fejarang and husband, Ryan, Danielle Silva and Amorena Almand. Mathew was preceded in death by his grandmother, Carlotta Leon in 1987; and by his grandfather, Jeff Stiker. Mathew frequented the gym and loved bodybuilding. He was a typical 17 year old that loved music and cars. Service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel with Reverend Clyde Stanfield, officiating. Interment will follow at Vista Verde Cemetery, 4310 Sara Rd. SE, Rio Rancho.
