Obituary for DARNELL

Dorothy I. Heath Darnell, 86, a resident of the Jemez Mountains and Bernalillo since 1931, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004. She is survived by her three sons, Carlton H. Darnell and wife Ruth of Albuquerque, Calvin L. Darnell and wife Frances of Glendale, AZ, and L. Cone Darnell and wife Michelle of Mesa, AZ; three daughters, Verda D. Rinaldi and husband Richard of Salt Lake City, UT, Linda K. Luders and husband Chuck of Rio Rancho, and Connie D. Darnell and husband Bob Luders of Jemez Springs; daughter-in-law, Patricia G. Darnell of Bernalillo; 34 grandchildren; and 65 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Henry J. Darnell, son Charles M. Darnell, eight brothers, and eight sisters. Mrs. Darnell was a member of the Bernalillo Women's Club and a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was famous for her yeast rolls. Services will be held Saturday, January 10, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., at the Bernalillo Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 325 Avenida de Bernalillo, with Bishop Brent Fewox presiding. Her granddaughters will serve as her pallbearers. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit the Relief Society Room of the Bernalillo Ward Chapel, Saturday, January 10, 2004, from 12:00 noon until time of service. Friends may also visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, Friday, January 9, 2004, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The family extends its heartfelt thanks for the loving attention and tender care offered to our Mom and Grandma by the superb ICU South Staff of Presbyterian Hospital.
