Obituary for LUCERO

Aurelia H. Lucero, 70, was born March 24, 1933 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and passed away peacfully, surrounded by her family after a brave battle with cancer in her home on December 26, 2003. She was a life-long resident of New Mexico. Helen was a devoted member of Immaculate Conception Church in Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Eufracia Lucero. She is survived by her daughter, Christine L. Lucero, grandchildren, Josh and Dominic Gallegos, Tara and Jude Sanchez, sisters, Rose Sanchez and husband Abran, Carol Sanchez and husband Jake, Julia Lopez, Dina Atler and Theresa Gabaldon and husband Pete, brothers, Paul Lucero and wife Clara, Julian Lucero and wife Stella, many nieces and nephews and many friends whom she touched with kindness and friendship. Helen will always be remembered for her friendship, thoughtfulness, kindness, unselfishness and great love for her grandchildren of whom she was so very proud of. Helen will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her and will be loved always. A Mass will be celebrated, beginning with a rosary on December 30, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper Avenue NW with Father Louis Lambert, SJ presiding. There will be a gathering in Helen's memory in her home after the service.
