Obituary for SCHOOLCRAFT

Caroline "Carrie" Schoolcraft, 103, left this world to be with her Creator on Saturday, December 13, 2003. Carrie was born in Albuquerque, NM to Emil and Lita on November 14, 1900. She taught cosmetology at El Rito Vocational School in Pojoaque from 1933-1938 and in Stanley, NM from 1941-1943. In 1943, she welded swing shift at Swan Island in Portland, Oregon. Carrie then worked locally at JC Penney at McClellan Dept. Stores for over 30 years, retiring in the late 1970's. She was preceded in death by her lovely granddaughter, Lorri. Her survivors include brothers, Robert and Johnny; beloved and devoted son, Albert and wife, Ruby Vaudine; granddaughters, Marla and husband, Tom, Carol, Aleta and husband, Ric and grandson, Chris and wife, Mary. Carrie was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, Tad, Shannon, Jacquelyn, Kevin, Ashleigh and Autumn; and many nieces and nephews. Carrie had a truly independent, hard-working spirit and she was selflessly devoted to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her. The family wishes to thank the staff at Camino Retirement Center, Sandia Manor Care especially Janet, R.N. and Gabriel at Sunrise Cremation Society. Services to be announced.
