Floraida P. Romero, 80, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on December 23, 2003. She is survived by her children, Barbara Abeyta and husband, Joe of Albuquerque, NM, Andrew Romero of Denver, Co and Mary G. Gonzales and husband, Antonio of Albuquerque, NM; grandchildren, Dorrie Abeyta-Mascarenas and husband, John, Michaelanne Ellison and husband, Todd, Greg Abeyta, Andrew Romero and wife, Lynn, Michelle Romero, Anthony Romero and wife, Amy, Andrea Romero, Andrea Fisher, Matthew Fisher, Jozette Chavez and fiance, Manuel, Melanie Stevenson and husband, James, Angelique Montoya and husband, Mario, Antonio Gonzales; great grandchildren, Chris, Nicholas, Maggie-Mae, Piper, Alex, Andy, Randy and Bridgette, Johnny, Joey, Jacqueline, Tony, Allyson, Santiago & Jocelyn. Floraida is also survived by her brother, Paul Silva and wife, Gloria. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew (Tito) and 13 brothers and sisters. She was the 14th of 15 children. Floraida was a graduate of Cathedral High School and a former member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Ms. Romero was a longtime employee of the BIA. Rosary will be recited on Friday, December 26, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary - Westside Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church, 215 West Wilson in Gallup, NM. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be Greg Abeyta, Andrew Romero, John Mascarenas, Antonio Gonzales, Chris Abeyta, Mario Montoya, James Stevenson and Manuel Chavez.
