Theresa Mascaranes Fernandez, 83, of Penasco, NM, was called to heaven by her loving husband, while in the arms of her family on December 22, 2003. Not only a loving wife, Theresa was the greatest Mom any family could have. Theresa was married to the late Ben Fernandez for 67 years. She always had time for her 11 children, Modesta Sanchez, Herman and Ellia Fernandez, Renida and Pat Martinez, Marcella and Manuel Gonzales, Gloria Steele, Isabel Owen, Bobby Fernandez, Irene Roman, Helen and Frank Demott, Joe and Dawn Fernandez , John Fernandez; and her 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great- great - grandchildren. Through life's laughter and sadness, most importantly, the family stayed together. Theresa was loved by her family as a mother, but more importantly a woman who was loved and respected by all. A Rosary was held Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Chapel of Sunrise. Mass will be held Tuesday December 23, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd, NE, Albuquerque.
