Obituary for MYERS

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday December 21, 2003

Elnora Rosalie Myers, "Rosie", 80, died December 18, 2003 of heart failure. She was born in Lima, Ohio on February 24, 1923 and moved to Albuquerque with her family in 1950. She is survived by Donald, her husband of nearly 60 years and the great love of her life; by her four children, James and Robert Myers, Carole Sherwood and Linda Casey; by her brother, Roger Wilson; by her grandchildren, Rick and Julie Sherwood, Josh, Tim and Sarah Myers, Stacy and Jessica Edwards, and by her great-grandchildren, Spencer and Chad Sherwood. She had a great love of life, a tremendous heart and was unselfishly dedicated to the comfort, care and service of loved ones. She took special delight in caring for and playing with young children. She had extraordinary talent as a seamstress and created enthusiastically throughout her life. She fashioned custom leather goods and clothes for many years at The Shire Leather Shop. Rosie made innumerable Halloween costumes and worked long hours into the night every year hand sewing Christmas gifts for family members. She learned to upholster furniture and at one time painted pictures. Rosie enjoyed cooking--especially for large Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. Although her gentle soul is even now deeply missed, she remains alive and close by in the hearts of each member of her close-knit family. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE (275-3500).
