Obituary for KAISER

Jean E.Kaiser, resident of Corrales, New Mexico and Madison, Connecticut, died peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2003. Jean was born in New Haven, Connecticut on December 18, 1910. She was the daughter of Paul V.C. Baur, professor of Classical Archeology at Yale University and Susan Whiting Johnson. Her late brother, John I.H. Baur was for many years Director of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Captain Frank R. Kaiser, and by one daughter, Lynn Kaiser of Glastonbury, CT. Jean was like a magnet, the center of devoted family, friends, dogs, and horses. She loved her flower garden. Until age 90, she was a dedicated volunteer at the Corrales Library. In earlier years she was active in NAHRA, a horseback riding program for children with disabilities and the Madison Garden Club. Jean had a most rare ability to make everyone she encountered feel special, no matter what their age or station. She is survived by her daughters, Christina Marshall of Corrales, Sue Lynch of Sharon, CT; her son, Ernest Montgomery of Albuquerque; and numerous grandchildren. (A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. at the Old Corrales Church, on Old Church Rd, in Corrales.)
