Elaine T. James, a young 70, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 13, 2003. Elaine has been a resident of Albuquerque since 1958 and was born and raised in Detroit, MI. She is survived by her husband, John B. James; two sons, George James and wife, Stephanie; and their children, Aubrey and Casey of Albuquerque, William James and wife, Barbara and their children, Amber, Brandon and Jessica and they live in Honolulu, Hawaii. Elaine was the youngest of 12 children and only her nearest sister Hilda Thomas of Detroit, MI survives. In the Detroit area there are nephews David Thomas and wife Pat, Dr. Fred Rau and wife, Ann and Charles Elias. Nieces are Carol McGuire, Barbara Schalk and husband, Dick, Patricia Lennington and husband, John and of course many cousins. In addition to being a good mother she was an active Realtor. In fact she was the only person to be the "leading salesman of the year" for three consecutive years. Elaine was an active Republican and attended three national conventions as a delegate. She made an unsuccessful run for the Albuquerque City Commission. Elaine enjoyed traveling with her husband John. The last trip was to Alaska where wedding vows were re-dedicated by the Captain in September. Previously they have been to Europe, China, Australia and New Zealand and on an inaugural cruise from Singapore to LA taking 28 days stopping at many ports for day tours. During the last few years the effects of Parkinson's Disease and kidney failure have taken their toll. She passed on in peace. Services will be held Thursday, December 18, 2003, 9:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, with Father Mario Giannopoulos conducting. Interment will take place at 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
