Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday December 11, 2003

William Rickliffe "Rick" Hancock. Our beloved son and brother passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, December 6, 2003. He was born April 16, 1955 in Benton, Illinois. He is survived by his father, Simon Hancock and wife, Mary; brother, Robert Hancock and wife, Terry; sisters, Kathy Sanchez and husband, Anthony and Theresa Hancock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jeraldine and brothers, Fred and Kevin. As a young teenager, Rick made a profession of faith in Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He served in the Army after high school. Rick was not perfect, but had a heart for others and a beautiful mind. He suffered from a mental affliction himself, but his heart of gold came blazing through. Rick will be remembered as the one that truly enjoyed being among people. He totally enjoyed his job at Boston Market, his trips to Walmart, and coffee every morning with Rudy. We, his family, trust that Rick is with his Heavenly Father forever. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held Friday, December 12, 2003, 10:00 a.m., at Mountainside United Methodist Church, Cedar Crest, with Rev. David Bachelor officiating. French Mortuary 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE 275-3500
