Obituary for SHORT

Wanda J. Short, a resident of New Mexico since 1937, died Wednesday, December 3, 2003. She was born June 6, 1919 in Pawnee, Oklahoma. Mrs. Short was preceded in death by Bud, her husband of 56 years. She is survived by her daughters, Frances McCandless and husband, Gordon of St. Louis, MO, Phyllis Kenderdine and husband, Eugene of Albuquerque, NM; son, James Short and wife, Pamela of Santa Fe, NM, grandchildren, David McCandless and wife, Carol, Tim McCandless and wife, Stacey, Lisa Leguet of St. Louis, MO, Charles DeWitt and Elizabeth DeWitt of Albuquerque, NM, Gregory Short and wife, Sabrina of Vancouver, WA, and Erik Short of Portland, OR; six great-grandchildren, Isabelle Leguet, Audrey and Elliot McCandless and Annika and Allison Short. She is also survived by her good friend, Bill Harmon. Mrs. Short was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and Las Aranas, and enjoyed working at the New Mexico State Fair's Sheep to Shawl. Wanda loved spinning, weaving, crafts and spending time in Mexico. She was loved and respected by her family and friends and will be deeply missed. Services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Patricia Holman.
