Antonio (Tony) Jose Mata, age 87, beloved father and grandfather was called by the Lord our Savior to His heavenly home, early Friday morning, December 5, 2003. Tony was a life long resident of Alameda. He was preceded in death by his wife Julia Mata; son, Tony Mata, Jr.; grandson, Brian MacGibbon; son-in-law, Phillip MacGibbon; and his parents; brothers and sisters. Tony is survived by his loving daughters, Lorella (Ella) Munoz and husband Albert and Priscilla MacGibbon; his grandchildren, Paula Sandoval and husband Joseph, Phillip and Mark MacGibbon, Perry Munoz and wife Tammy, and Sonia Perea and husband David; great-grandchildren, Joey, Jaeden Sandoval, Estrella, Perry and Mia Munoz. Visitations will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary; where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Interment will follow at San Carlos Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Phillip MacGibbon, Mark MacGibbon, Perry Munoz, Joseph Sandoval, David Perea and Richard Mata. Honorary bearers will be Sonia Perea, Paula Sandoval, Joey Sandoval, Jaeden Sandoval, Estrella Munoz, Perry Munoz, Jr., and Mia Munoz.
