Obituary for MONTOYA

Betty B. Montoya, 67, a resident of Albuquerque since 1997, died Thursday, November 27, 2003, after a lengthy illness. She is survived by her husband, Ray O. Montoya of Albuquerque; three sons, David Montoya of Las Cruces, Steve Montoya and Gary Montoya, both of Albuquerque; three daughters, Iris Carrillo and husband, Thomas of Las Cruces, Evie Marie Castaneda and husband, Javier, and Peggy Ann Carrion and husband, Jim, all of Albuquerque; 17 grandchildren; brother, Willie Banegas Jr. of Las Cruces; and sister, Eva Galaz. She was preceded in death by her son, Paul Montoya. Mrs. Montoya was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. She and Ray raised many foster children and also started the Little League Baseball program in Las Cruces. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, December 3, 2003, at 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, December 4, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Carillo, Anthony Carillo, Jake Carrion, Joseph Carrion, Andrew Montoya and Jeremy Carrion. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Montoya, Nick Montoya, Justin Carrion, Joel Montoya and Jeffrey Carrion. Memorial services will also take place Saturday, December 13, 2003, at 1:00 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 Miranda Street, Las Cruces, NM. French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE 823-9400
