Allene Gallegos-Wright, 55, a resident of Carefree Arizona, and a Flight Attendant for America West Airlines, passed away peacefully at her home on November 10, 2003, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Allene was born in Albuquerque on September 11, 1948, and graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1966. She is survived by her husband, Stephen A. Wright, a pilot for America West Airlines; her daughter, Denise Tobin; son-in-law, Brian; and grandchildren, Brandon, Justin, and Preston of Phoenix Arizona; her mother, Bertha A. Gallegos of Los Lunas, NM; brothers and sisters, Gary Gallegos, Kathleen Sobelman and husband, Howard, Carol Gallegos all of Phoenix AZ, Mark Gallegos and wife, Jeannie of Miami Fl, Al Gallegos and wife, Marian of Peralta NM, Tommy Gallegos and wife, Diane of Seattle, WA, Christine Taylor and husband, Alex of Belen, NM, and Brian Gallegos and his life partner, Leon Vigil of Los Lunas, NM. She is also survived by 16 nieces and nephews,; their children; and a large extended family and many friends. Allene was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Rodriguez; father, Alfred Gallegos; nephew, Sean Sanchez; and sister-in-law, Carmen Portela-Gallegos. The family wishes to express our sincere appreciation for the continued prayers and support during Allene's illness. A Mass to celebrate Allene's life will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 3674 Hwy 47, Peralta NM. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower St., Phoenix, AZ 85014-5669. The family will receive family and friends at the home of Bertha Gallegos following the memorial Mass.
