Obituary for DEL FRATE JR.

Guido J. Del Frate, Jr., 75, son of Italian immigrants, lifelong resident of Albuquerque, former co-owner of the Palm's Grocery and later the Palm's Trading Company in Old Town, passed away Friday, November 28, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Helen Del Frate; son, Gino and wife, Sheri of Palmer, AK; daughters, Monica Hofrock and Cynthia Del Frate; and grandchildren, Amanda, Kimberly, Brandon, Brianna and Ciara; sister, Henrietta Berger and family; and sister-in-law, Virginia Del Frate and family. Mr. Del Frate was preceded in death by his parents, Guido and Fanny; brother, Angelo; and daughter, Sandra. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Del Frate was devoted to his family and strived for customer satisfaction. He was an avid sports enthusiast and especially loved the horse races. Later in life he spent much of his time gardening. Mr. Del Frate was a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper Ave. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Guy Berger, Eric Berger, Greg Berger, Mark Del Frate and Fred Garcia. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Berger, James Farmer, Lee Farmer, Dick Pederson and Jose Gutierrez.
