Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Sunday November 23, 2003

Scott A. Hamm, 43, passed away at his home in Camarillo, CA, on October 27. Born August 6, 1960 in Albuquerque, and was raised in Cedar Crest. He attended Moriarty H.S. Where he excelled in sports, especially basketball, setting many records. After graduation he moved to California and attended college on a scholarship. He earned a BS in computer engineering and worked his way up to Vice President of a major micro-circuits corporation. Scott was a father who despite all the demands of the corporate world put his children first. He was a son who called his mother every week no matter what he was doing or where in the world he was. He was a man that was as generous as he was successful. He was an executive that believed his co-workers were as important as the work. He was a mentor in the micro-circuit industry seeing potential in individuals and offering them the opportunities that others would not. He was a biker whose Harley-Davidson got preferential space in the garage, over his restored 66 mustang. He loved sports and music. For the last six years he hosted "Hammstock" his annual bash for his friends and co-workers, giving local talent a venue to play. Most recently Scott had left the corporate world and started a new venture in entertainment promotions, specifically jazz. He was the driving force behind this years Channel Islands Arts and Jazz Festival. He also worked with a club providing a place for unknown talent to showcase their works. Though his life was short he didn't waste a moment of it. Above all he was loved as much as he loved. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; and many other loved ones. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey of Camarillo; his daughter, Jessica, of Camarillo; and his sister, Cheryl; and niece, Laurel of Moriarty. Services were held November 5, 2003 at the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, in Camarillo.
