Vernon Ray Highland, 73, a resident of New Mexico since 1973, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Jean Highland; one daughter, Rebecca Thompson and husband, Bill, of Albuquerque, NM; one son, Jeff Highland and wife, Rena of Albuquerque, NM; two grandsons, Adam Thompson and Tyler Highland; one brother, Bart Highland and wife, Scottie of Cortez, CO; one sister, Audrey Gill, of Pueblo, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 10:30 a.m., at the Peralta United Memorial Methodist Church, 25 Wesley, Peralta, NM 87042. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Peralta United Memorial Methodist Church, or the Cancer Society.
