Florence A. LaBruzza, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. LaBruzza. Since retirement from the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., where she was employed as an entomologist and malacologist, she pursued her hobbies by volunteering at the Colorado School of Mines Mineral Museum in Golden, CO, University of New Mexico Mineral Museum, Museum of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM, the U.S. Forest Service, and the New Mexico Museum of Natural History. Mrs. LaBruzza published many scientific books and papers including the revised edition of "Minerals of New Mexico" by S.A. Northrop. Interment will take place at Fairmont Cemetery in Denver, CO.
