Obituary for MARTINEZ

Laura Martinez, 57, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, October 24, 2003 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her father, Eluid Vigil, mother, Emma Vigil and sister Judy Montoya. She is survived by her husband of 39 years Joe (Narciso) Martinez; three daughters, Lorna Magill and husband, Bernie, of Warrenton, VA, Michelle Montoya and husband, Floyd, of Albuquerque and Karen Martinez of Albuquerque; one son, Matthew Martinez and wife, Lisa, of Albuquerque. Eleven grandchildren, Alexa Milano of Colorado, Michael, Garrett and Justin Magill of Warrenton, VA, Laura, Tina and Floyd Montoya, Breana and Matthew Martinez, Sabrina and Olivia Tafuro; great granddaughter Faith Montoya all of Albuquerque; brothers, Clarence, Oliver, Ernie, Paul and Kenneth Vigil; one sister, Bella Vigil; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. at First Spanish Fruit Avenue Baptist Church, 812 Fruit Ave N.W. with Dr. Bernie Moraga officiating. Interment of cremated remains will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, October 30, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Arrangements made by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. N.W.
