Paul Barela, 75, beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 18, 2003. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia and Tranquilino Barela; brothers, Leandro and Edward Barela; and sister, Anita Esquibel. Paul is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jennie Barela; daughter, Kathy Shamma; grandchildren, Felicia and Sabrina Shamma, Denise J. and Christopher Garcia; brother, John Barela and wife Betty; and numerous other family members and friends who loved and will miss him. Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas NE., on Wednesday, October 22, 2003 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery.
