Obituary for MOYA

Annie T. Moya, 90, a life long resident of Peralta, NM peacefully joined our Lord surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 14, 2003. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. She was a wonderful cook and all of her children, grandchildren, and friends could hardly wait until she made her famous biscochitos each year. She always had candy for her grandchildren and growing up, the kids would always say, "Let's go to grandmas!" She was a prayer warrior and any time her children were going to travel or were sick you could count on her prayers. She loved animals and especially loved watching the roadrunners that lived close to her house. She is preceded in death by her husband, Esequiel in 1978; her son, Cande in 1970; her parents, Maclovio and Senida Torrez; two sisters, Josefita Chavez and Lucy Alderete; six brothers, Lorenzo; Eugino; Emilio; Rumaldo; Vivian; and Trinnie; and one special nephew, Adeliado Chavez. Annie is survived by her five loving children, Alice and her husband, Fil Serrano of Belen, NM; Alvie Lucero and her husband, Jose Silva of Los Lunas, NM; Amelia and her husband, Porfirio Silva of Belen; Louie and his wife, Christine of Los Lunas; and Cecilia and her husband, Damian Gutierrez of Peralta. Annie also raised two special nieces as daughters, Lydia and her husband, Porferio Olguin of Belen; and Mellie and her husband, Danny Zamora of Tome, NM; and also two special nephews she raised as sons, Leroy Chavez and his wife, Erlinda of Los Lunas; and Leo Chavez of CA; 26 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great- grandchildren with one on the way. She is also survived by her special in-laws, Adela Torrez; and Manuel Antonio and his wife, Annie Moya, all of Albuquerque. She is also survived by any loving nieces and nephews. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church beginning with a viewing on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at 6:30pm followed by a rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 17, 2003 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at the Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Val Lucero; David Silva; Rick Sutton Ronald Moya; Steve Gutierrez, Mark Chavez and Danny Leroy Silva. Honorary Pallbearers will be Leroy Chavez Jr.; Carlos Gutierrez; Roberto and Paul Silva; Jason and Bryan Moya; and Marcos Zamora. Romero Funeral Home 609 N. Main St. Belen 87002.
