Obituary for ATCHISON

Published in the Albuquerque Journal on Thursday October 16, 2003

Myrtle Bell Atchison, 87, died peacefully in Las Vegas, Nevada on Wednesday, October 8, 2003. Myrtle was a proud New Mexican for 50 years, moving here from Missouri with her husband, David; and two children, Alan and Kathy in 1949. Most of her years in New Mexico were spent in the Cedar Crest and Four Hills areas where she was an active member in the communities. Her husband, David passed away in Albuquerque 13 years ago. Myrtle was a member of PEO and the Four Hills Resident's Association. She and her husband were members of the congregation of La Mesa Presbyterian Church. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 17, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Park Chapel, the Reverend Howard Paul will lead the service. Attending the service will be her children, Kathy and Alan and members of their families. Myrtle leaves behind her children; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She would have wished that her irreverent, and sometimes bawdy, sense of humor is passed to the generations that follow. Arrangements are under the direction of: Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors 3113 Carlisle Blvd. 884-1188
