Robert Mason East, 81, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2003. Robert was born August 22, 1922 the son of Harold and Isabel Mason East in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He had been a Foreign Service Officer with the Federal Government before retiring. Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Edith Shelton East; two brothers, Johnny and Harold East; and one sister, Tish Fenwick. Robert is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his daughter, Marsha East; Eleanor's children, Carolyn Chikazunga, and Renee Okoye; sisters, Sandy Jackson and Gwen Prescott; brothers, Philip, Milton, and Ronald East; and his care taker, Priscilla Fiege. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Rio Grande Presbyterian Church, 600 Coors Rd., Albuquerque, with Rev. Jean Thompson officiating.
