Obituary for CORRALES

Rogelio Corrales, 81, a lifelong resident of Gallina passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 peacefully at his home. Mr. Corrales was a Veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service and was a lifetime rancher and pillar of the community. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Corrales; son, Roger Corrales Jr. and wife, Beverly all of Gallina; daughters, Clora Gerber and husband, Darryl of Las Cruces, Pauline Chacon and husband, Ivan of Coyote, JoAnn Jacquez and husband, Clyde Jr. of Farmington, Doris Corrales of Albuquerque, Monica Corrales of Santa Fe; brothers, Joe Corrales of Gallina and Frank Corrales and wife, Mabel of Utah; sister, Elizaida Suazo and husband, Willie of Gallina; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will begin on Wednesday, October 8, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. Another rosary to be recited on Thursday, October 9, 2003 at 3:30 p.m. and at 7:00 p.m. at the Coronado High School Auditorium. Mass of Christian burial to be celebrated on Friday, October 10, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. also at the Coronado High School Auditorium with Father Vincent Dominguez officiating. Burial to take place at the Family Ranch in Gallina with the following serving as pallbearers, Amos Corrales, Antoine Corrales, T.J. Jacquez, Michael Jacquez, Neil Chacon and Tony Gomez. Honorary pallbearers named are, Antonio and Edwin Serrano, Eliseo Jacquez, Gabriel Maestas Jr., Julian Vigil and Alfonso Suazo and all of his grandchildren.
