Jesusita Martinez, 90, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, died Friday, October 3, 2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvino Carriaga and Jacoba Gutierrez-Carriaga. Mrs. Martinez was also preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo Martinez in 1990 and her son, Guillermo "Billy" Martinez in 1998. She is survived by her daughters, Martha Elizabeth Martinez, Edna Martinez Schroeder and Marie Trujillo; a granddaughter, Ana Schroeder; sisters, Virginia C. Casares and Sarah Grimm, all of Albuquerque; a special niece, Veronica Trujillo, many other nieces and nephews of the Carriaga family, special friend Renee Wood and son in-law, Henry Schroeder. Mrs. Martinez was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a long-time member of El Buen Samaritano Methodist Church where she was active in Las Mujeres Methodistas and where she taught Children's Sunday School for many years. Services will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m., at El Buen Samaritano Methodist Church, 700 Granite NW, with Pastor Jesus Bermudez officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
