Wilma M. Lane Johnson, 91, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, September 28, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Neleen Lane Harper and husband, Kenneth of Albuquerque; step-daughter, Phyllis Molina and husband, Ed of Albuquerque; step-son, Fred K. Johnson and wife, Mary of Simpsonville, SC; grandsons, Gary Harper and wife, Beverly of El Paso, TX and Major Brian Harper and wife, Captain Maria Harper of Sumter, SC; step-grand-daughters, Suzanne Mercer and husband, Michael of Moonachie, NJ and Amy Johnson of Fairfax, VA; five great-grandchildren, Anne Eleise, Sean Mitchell, Conner Nathaniel Harper, Meagan Nicole Mercer, and Audrey Elizabeth Mercer; sister, Hazel Kelley and husband, Thurman of Shreveport, LA. Wilma was preceded in death by both husbands, Robert M. Lane and Fred C. Johnson, and her son, who is MIA in Vietnam, Captain Mitchell S. Lane. She was very active at the Fruit Avenue Baptist Church. Wilma was a member of the White Shrine and the Gold Star Mothers where she held several offices in both organizations. She worked many years as a secretary starting in Washington, DC through her retirement in Albuquerque. Services will be held Friday, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, with Pastor Ken Moore, officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual NE.
