Mr. Alberto Escobar Garza, Sr., 72, a resident of Albuquerque born in Escobares, Texas on June 28, 1931 passed away on September 30, 2003 at home surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Garza fought a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Garza is survived by his children, David Garza, Delma Luna and husband, Gilbert, Albert Garza Jr. and wife , JoAnn, Mario Garza and wife, Sonya, Martin Garza, Veronica Garza and fiance, Jacinto Dominguez, Sophia Garza and fiance, Joe Purcella, and Jason Garza; stepchildren, Leroy Gutierez, JoAnn Gutierrez and fiance, Bob Chacon; mothers of his children, Eloisa V. Hernandez and Stella Garza; one sister, Ruperta Cantu; one brother, Reynaldo Garza Jr. and wife, Toni; 24 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Garza was preceded in death by his parents, Reynaldo Sr. and Francisca Garza; a brother, Dionicio; his sister, Manuela Flores; and a son, Daniel Garza. A Visitation will be Thursday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel with a Funeral Service to be held at 10:00 a.m. by Deacon Manuel Montoya.
