Sibyl M. Nissen died September 26, 2003.She was born at Crown Point, New Mexico, where a boarding school for Navajo children was being established on the Navajo Reservation, she was born January 19, 1913 to James T & Rilla A. (Pettis) Williamson. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister Olga M. Williamson, her husband Carl J. Nissen, a grandson G. Wayne Riddick, and a great-grandson Kody E. Ragland. She is survived by her children, Sigrid McCain of Sophia, N.C., Hilda Riddick of Dalzell, S.C., Sonja DeVasher of Warsaw, Mo., Carline Reid, Greta Cox, and James G. Nissen all of Albuquerque; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and five great- great- grandchildren. She attended high school at Montezuma, New Mexico college at N.M.S.U. (Las Cruces).and Iowa state Unicweairy (Ames). Where she graduated in 1934. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Highland Senior Activity Center, Zeta Tau Alpha fraternity, she was a charter and past member of New Mexico Genealogical Society, Inc., San Marcial #34 order of Eastern Star, Albuquerque White Shrine No.1, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. Cremation has taken place graveside services to be held on Friday October 3, 2003 at Sunset Memorial Park at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Make a Wish Foundation, 5301 Central Avenue N.E., Albuquerque, New Mexico 87108.
