Obituary for HOWARD

Flois Howard, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1991, died Thursday, September 18, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy L Howard; daughter, Lynda E. Howard; son, Thomas W. Howard, all of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Jessie L. Howard of Taos; three nieces, Geraldine Miller of Houston, TX, Jenny Baldwin of Salt Lake City, UT and Bernice McKay of San Diego, CA; and many other family members. Mr. Howard was born in Greenville, TX to Thomas and Ellen Howard. He enlisted in the Mounted Calvary for the U.S. Army. Mr. Howard served during WWII in the Pacific Theatre of Command with the U.S. Army-Air Corps. He was a Japanese-held P.O.W. from March 1942 to September 1945. After Mr. Howard's return from the war, he met Dorothy Crites, whom he married on February 11, 1946. After 31 years of military service, he continued for the next ten years in Civil Service. Mr. Howard was very active in the Masons, Order of the Eastern Star, P.O.W. Club and the D.A.V. Services will be held Monday, September 22, 2003, at 10:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Pastor Clyde Stanfield officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
