Obituary for Baldwin

Winnie Mae Baldwin, 96, a resident of the Ladera Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Albuquerque, died Thursday, December 24, 1998. She is survived by her sister, Corrilea; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Marian Cannady; her parents; and her brothers, Thadeus Charles (T.C.), Carl, Winfred, Roland, and Glenn. Winnie was born on September 4, 1902 in Ft. Chadbourne, TX to Winfred and Ora Belle Baldwin. The family moved to the Estancia Valley and eventually to Albuquerque. She was employed by Charles Ilfeld as a bookkeeper from 1920 until the company was purchased and closed in 1970. Winnie was an active member of the Central Methodist Church from the time she moved to Albuquerque until she became too ill to attend services. Services will be held Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Marty Singleterry officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
