Obituary for Colombo

Alyce M. Colombo, a resident of Rio Rancho, New Mexico since 1983, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 1998. Alyce was born December 4, 1923 in Ladd, Illinois. She was a registered nurse and was trained at St. Francis School of Nursing in Peoria, Illinois. She met her husband at the Kellog Sanitarium in Battle Creek, Michigan during WW II where they were on active duty. She assisted her husband in his family practice in Brooklyn, New York for 36 years. Alyce is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert R. Colombo, MD of Rio Rancho, NM; daughter, Clare A. Colombo, MD and husband, Ron Yestrebi of Rio Rancho, NM; sons, Robert R. Colombo of Ridgewood, NJ, William J. Colombo and wife, Sheila of Gibsonia, PA; grandchildren, Michael and David Haugh, Rachel Yestrebi, Elizabeth Colombo, Ryan, Sean and Connor Colombo; three great-grandchildren; her mother, Jennie Gualandri of Illinois; sisters, Cecilia Bernardi and husband, Don of Illinois, Rita Corson and husband, Wilbur of Missouri; her good friend, Anne R. Carbone, RN of Rio Rancho, NM. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 1998 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Monday, August 24, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
