Obituary for Egli

Stanley M. Egli, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1978, passed away September 12, 1998. He is survived by loving wife of 44 years, Evelyn; daughter, Susan and her husband, Bill Carden of Austin, TX; son, Douglas Egli, M.D. and wife, Regina Valencia, M.D. of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Brian Carden, Jason Carden, Katharine Egli and Michael Egli; sisters, Elsie Litwiller of Washington, Iowa and Ida Egli of Kalona, Iowa; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by daughter, Marlene in 1955. Stan was born June 27, 1918 in Manson, Iowa, the last of 13 children. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. After obtaining a degree in Business Administration from Denver University, he began a career in hospital administration. He served as Administrator of the Espanola Hospital from 1965 to 1978 and Assistant Regional Administrator for Presbyterian Hospital Center from 1978 to 1980. He served as President of the New Mexico Hospital Association in 1971. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Presbyterian Hospice or St. Stephen's United Methodist Church Kids Under Construction Program Preschool and Daycare. Private burial will take place, with a memorial service planned for October 10, 1998 at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
