Obituary for Santillano

Mr. Paul C. Santillano died Monday in Albuquerque at the age of 68. Mr. Santillano was a member of the St. Edwin Catholic Church and he was a retired police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. Mr. Santillano was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was awarded 2 Purple Hearts. He was a member of the DAV Chapter 3, the VFW, the American Legion Post 69, the Paralyzed Vets of America and the Zapata Club. Mr. Santillano is survived by his wife, Ursula Santillano, of the family home; daughters, Connie Santillano of Los Angeles, CA, and Juanita Santillano of Bakersfield, CA; sisters, Guadalupe Tapia of Paicoma, CA, and Petra Myers of Los Angeles, CA; and four grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Santillano will be held on Monday at the St. Edwin Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Toby Lucero, Ricardo Vasquez, Perry Lucero, Johnnie Ray Gutierrez, Charles Lucero and Edward Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Fabien Anaya, Willie Salazar, Estevan Martinez, Viola Lucero, Bennie Lopez, Amy Isiacs, Gloria Martinez and Ivan Quintana. A Rosary for Mr. Santillano will be recited on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Edwin Church. Arrangements by the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.
