Obituary for Cook

Robert A. Cook, 71, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 1998. He was born February 2, 1927 in Dorothy, West Virginia, and grew up in Mt. Harris, Colorado. The Cooks moved to Los Lunas 22 years ago. Survivors include Jean M. Cook, his wife of 46 years; his daughter, Jeanette Cook and husband, Don Helfrich of Albuquerque; his sons, Bruce H. Cook and wife, Cari F. Reiche of Albuquerque and Craig S. Cook and wife, Jamey Cook of Los Lunas; grandchildren, Lisa, Jenna and JoDean Cook of Montana, Cade and Kalyn Wormington and Anja Helfrich of Albuquerque, Kathryn Cook of Albuquerque and Ashley Cook of Los Lunas. Preceding Mr. Cook in death were his sons, Robbie Cook and Art Cook. A veteran, he served four years with the US Navy during WWII. Following graduation from Colorado State University in 1951. He moved to Montana, where he began his 35 year career with the U.S. Forest Service. After retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and was an avid golfer and gardener. A private family memorial service was held with Fr. George Bach of St. Philips Episcopal Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the ALS Assn., (Lou Gehrig's Disease), c/o 8525 Princess Jeanne NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Cremation arrangements are in the care of Sunrise Society, (891-8200).
