Obituary for Denzler

Mary L. Denzler, 89, a resident of Albuquerque since 1955, died Saturday, May 2, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, S. Russ Denzler, M.D. of Albuquerque; daughters, Patricia A. Vanderberg and husband, Dr. Richard Vanderberg of Edmonton, Canada and Mary Jo Denzler of Los Lunas, NM; god-daughter, Charlene Wardlow of Santa Rosa, CA.; son, David W.R. Denzler and wife, Caroline of Highland, MD; grandchildren, Debbie Hughes of Los Lunas, NM, John E. Hughes III of Corrales, NM, and Ian Vanderberg and wife, Rebecca of Halifax, Nova Scotia; great-grandchildren, Amber Jones and Kody Hudspeth; and family and friends. Mrs. Denzler was preceded in death by her two sisters and two brothers. She was first a homemaker and then a Den Mother and Girl Scout Leader. Mrs. Denzler was a very loving wife and a wonderful mother. She was a teacher and volunteer tutor for many years in Japan as well as in the United States. Mrs. Denzler was a volunteer at Bataan Hospital and former President and lifetime member of the Bataan Auxiliary. She was a member of Daughters of the Nile, Central Methodist Church, and United Methodist Women, and she was a former member of Eastern Star. Dr. and Mrs. Denzler enjoyed the Friendship Force, and they were active in the Shrine Nomad Club where they were charter members. Memorial services will be held Friday, 2:00p.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE, with Rev. Martha A. Singleterry and Dr. Charles N. Crutchfield officiating. Family would prefer memorial contribution may be made to Ballut Abyad shrine Transportation Fund, 6600 Zuni SE, 87108, or Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE, 87106, or a charity of choice.
