Obituary for Aragon

Isaac Aragon, 92, born June 3, 1905, a resident of Tome, NM, passed away on Monday, June 1, 1998. He was a member of the Tome Catholic Church. Isaac was the owner and operator of the Tome Food Market and Bar for 30 years. Isaac was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW. He was the Mealsite Manager of the Los Lunas Senior Citizens Center for eight years. He also served under Fred Luna and Tibo Chavez in the legislatures as Sargent of Arms for many years. Isaac was a well-known rancher, farmer, and businessman for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances in 1993; his daughter, Nila Chavez in 1984; his brother, Saturnino Aragon in 1997; and one sister, Dolores Aragon in 1989. Isaac is survived by his three sons, Ralph Aragon and his wife, Hope of Albuquerque, Joe S. Aragon and his wife, Josie of Tome, Leroy Isaac Aragon and his wife, Ritha, also of Tome, NM; daughters, Flora Carabajal and her husband, Frank of Peralta, NM, Betty Romero and her husband, Jake of Tome, NM, Priscilla Baca and her husband, Edward of Tome, Annie Sanchez and her husband, Raymond of Belen, NM, and Bernadette Nelson of Tome, NM. Also surviving are 38 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Chris Aragon of Tome, Joe Aragon of Belen, Julian Aragon of El Paso, and Cresencio Aragon of Los Lunas. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, NM, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Isaac's birthday, at 10:00 a.m., also at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Tome Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Floyd Carabajal, John Aragon, Santos Aragon, Ricky Romero, Bobby Baca, Louis Sanchez, Christian Nelson, Jacklyn Aragon, and B.J. Chavez. Romero Funeral Home in Belen is in charge of arrangements.
