William Ellis Reardon, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died at home on Friday, April 24, 1998. Born August 25, 1927 in Duncan, OK, he is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vendla; sons, Mike and wife, Liz, Chuck and wife, Pam; and grandsons, Spencer, Mike, Will; sister, Jane and husband, Herb Dwight of Santa Rosa, CA; aunt, Betty Jo and husband, OJ. Bejcek of Dallas, TX; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Betty Reardon; and daughter, Kelly. After serving in the Navy, Bill attended U. of Okla. where he received his Business BA and Law Degree. He and his wife and new baby came to Albuquerque in 1953, where he was a stockbroker for 40 years. In 1971, Bill initiated contact with Dean Witter and Co. to open their first office in Albuquerque with three friends from Goodbody and Company. It has grown to a firm of five offices, providing employment to 130 people in New Mexico. Bill Reardon was an outdoorsman. He served two terms as president of the Albuquerque Country Club, where he was a member for 40 years. Bill loved hunting and fly fishing. He was a great protector of wildlife and never minded throwing the big one back. A big part of his life was spent at the family's Canon Bonita and Red River Ranches in northeast New Mexico, where the family enjoyed most weekends and holidays. A private family service will be held as per Bill's wishes. He never wanted his friends to say they had to miss something because they had to go to his funeral. The family wishes to celebrate his life with good friends between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, at the family home. Memorials may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Albuquerque, 3333 Truman NE 87110, and the Rio Grande Zoological Park, 1320 Iron SW 87102. Vista Verde in charge of arrangements.
