Obituary for Pena

Guadalupe"G.T." Pena, 84, a resident of Belen, peacefully passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, December 26, 1998. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, and VFW Post 72. He was retired from the A.T. & S.F. Railroad in 1975 after 32 years of outstanding service. He was a talented artist, making wood carvings of people and animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Catarina, and two brothers, Sostenes and Francisco Torres. He is survived by his three children, Cruzann Pena-Dziuk and husband, Robert, Stephen Pena and wife, Lenore, and Christine Pena; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Juan Pena of Clovis. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. There will be a rosary on Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Memorial services will be on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Romero Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in G.T.'s name to the St. Joseph Hospice. Romero Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
