Obituary for Duran

Mr. Philip"Pito" B. Duran, Sr. died Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 80. Mr. Duran was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II and he worked for the Navajo Freight Line (ABF) for 12 years. He was a loving father to his sons, Philip B. Duran, Jr., Eddie S. Duran, and John N. Duran and wife, Linda; and his daughter, Jessie Morris. He is also survived by brothers, Mike Duran and wife, Carmen, Joe Duran and wife, Isabel, and George Duran; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Duran will be held on Saturday at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the San Carlos Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Duran, Philip Zamora, Philip Urioste, David Barbero, Joseph Guardiola and John Barela. A Rosary for Mr. Duran will be recited on Friday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Arrangements by the Salazar and Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.
