Obituary for Madrid

Magdalena Madrid, 89, a longtime resident of Canjilon, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 1998, following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by a son, Nabor Madrid in 1969; three sisters, Gene Hager, Agnes Scott and Bennie Bachicha; four brothers, Roque Montano, Isidoro Montano, Evaristo Montano and Bailon Montano; a sister-in-law, Gomicinda Baca. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Pacomio Madrid of the home in Canjilon; she is also survived by her six children, Pacomio Madrid Jr. ad wife, Esther of San Diego, CA, Nancy Garcia and husband, Mizel of Espanola, Herman Madrid and wife, Andi of Cebolla, Cruz Silva and husband, Librado of Albuquerque, Juanito Madrid and wife, Connie of Albuquerque and Cipriana Martinez and husband, Egripino of Canjilon; 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Thomas Montano of Albuquerque; four sisters, Georgia Salazar of Youngsville, Margie Kalina of Fresno, CA, Ernie McWaters of Phoenix, AZ and Pilar Gutierrez of Las Cruces; many nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 29, 1998 at the San Juan de Nepomuceno Church in Canjilon. Interment will follow at the Canjilon Catholic Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mizel Garcia Jr., Rick Leyba, Tony Garcia, Herman Madrid Jr., John Madrid, Rey Madrid, Carlos Garcia and Ernie Salazar. Named as honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Diana Wood, Maggie Young, Rhonda Madrid, Lupe Mercure, Theresa Leyba, Patricia Martinez and Lourie Vigil.
