Obituary for Burke

Catherine Burke, a resident of Albuquerque since 1994 and a resident of Santa Fe since 1926, died peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 1998. She was born in Antonio, Colorado on June 6, 1910 to Robert Henry Beers and Catherine Denning Beers. She moved to Santa Fe with her family in 1926. She is survived by her son, Peter Burke and wife, Val Closson-Burke of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Colleen Burke of Albuquerque; nephews, Lewis Seward and wife, Earline of Austin, TX, Bill Brown and wife, Sandi of Tacoma, WA, Hank Beers and wife, Gretchen of Phoenix, AZ; and her niece, Zona Taylor of Albuquerque; and many grandnephews and grandnieces. Catherine was a legal secretary in Santa Fe for many years and worked for Gilbert, White and Gilbert; Seth, Montgomery and Andrews; and for the Honorable Oliver Seth until her retirement. She will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. There will be a memorial service on Monday, 11:00 a.m., September 29, 1998 at Rosario Cemetery in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity in Catherine's name. Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Mortuary of Santa Fe.
