Obituary for Pfersdorff

Ottomar"Otto" Henry Pfersdorff, 95, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died on Tuesday, December 1, 1998. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cordelia Pfersdorff of the family home; daughters, Susan Lunsford and husband, Richard of Buffalo, NY, and Jane Puryear and husband, Robert of Santa Fe, NM; grandson, Jeremy Stevens and wife, Sophie of Durham, NC; granddaughter, Rebecca Jane Stevens of Baltimore, MD; sister, Marie Hausler of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Donald Hope and wife, Joy of Culpepper, VA; and nephew, James Pfersdorff and wife, Sylvia of Tucson, AZ. Mr. Pfersdorff earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He began his career as a professional engineer in Missouri, and Illinois. Later, Mr. Pfersdorff moved to Caracas, Venezuela where he and his family resided for 21 years. During this time, he was awarded a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. After Dr. Pfersdorff's retirement in 1971, the family moved to Albuquerque. He was a member of St. John Methodist Church, the Palo Duro Senior Center, and the Palo Duro Philatelic Club. He was a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the A.S.M.E. International, and the College of Engineers-Venezuela. Memorial services will be held Friday, December 4, 1998, 2:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Rev. Charles E. Price officiating. Private interment will take place. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, Asthma Fund, 216 Truman NE, Albuquerque, NM 87108.
