Obituary for Sussman

Allan J. Sussman, 68, a resident of Albuquerque since 1990, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 1998. Allan was born November 30, 1929, the son of Isaac and Rebecca Telsen Sussman in Brooklyn, New York. He had been a Postmaster with the US Postal service in New York. Allan served in the US Army during the 1950's in the Medical Corp. He had been a Senior Vice Commander of the DAV of Rio Rancho, Chapter 5, Past Commander of the Jewish War Veterans, Post 203, Past President of the Futurama Civic Association in Brooklyn, NY, had been instrumental in developing schools, parks, and transportation in Brooklyn, was President of the Jewish Community Friendship Club. Allan is survived by his wife, Grace of Albuquerque; children, Sheryl Glazer and Ira Sussman and Gregory Glazer of Brooklyn, NY; brother, Milton Tempkin and wife, Blance of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Gregory Glazer of Brooklyn, NY, Erica Glazer and Jo Jo Valdez of Albuquerque; great-grandchild, Dominique Valdez of Albuquerque. A Memorial service for Allan will be held on Monday, March 9, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Rabbi Isaac Celnik officiating.
