Obituary for Giron

Tomas D. Giron, 67, a resident of Socorro and a previous resident of Santa Fe, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 1999 following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donicio Giron and Anastacia Zamora-Giron; son, Tomas Giron Jr.; daughter, Andrieta Giron; brother, Gilbert Giron; brother-in-law, Nash Godinez; and nephew, Seppie Torres. He was born in Polvadera, NM to Donicio Giron and Anastacia Zamora on April 7, 1932. Mr. Giron worked as a self employed auto mechanic and owned and operated Tom's Emergency Auto Service for over 20 years in Santa Fe. He is survived by his children, Richard A. Giron and wife, Jan of Wymore, NE, Joseph Giron of Santa Fe, David R. Giron and wife, Laurie of Clearwater, FL, Alicia A. Duran of Espanola; grandchildren dear to him, Stephen, Deborah and Kevin Giron, all of Florida, Desiree Renee Duran of Espanola. He is also survived by his five sisters, Fiddie Godinez of Socorro, Vickie Goldstrom and husband, Don of Alamogordo, Rosalie Torres and husband, Joe of Socorro, Gloria McGraw of T or C, Agnes (Baby) Torres and husband, Vincent of Socorro and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Visitation was held at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 22, 1999, at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro, followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday evening. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 1999, at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro with interment following at the Polvadera Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Giron, Ron Giron, Kenny Torres, Buddy Godinez, Charlie Curtis and Richard Zamora. Arrangements are under the direction of Steadman-Hall Funeral Home.
