Gilbert"Gilly" Ortiz passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 27, 1999, at the age of 82 in his beloved home in Nambe, NM. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Gilbert Jr., Augustine, John, Darren; daughters, Marcia Lujan and husband, Carlos, Catherine Ortiz; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Adelicia"Adella" Luna, Cordella Roybal, Yolanda Vigil and husband, Meliton, Loyola Alarid and husband, Benjamin; numerous nieces and nephews. Gilly will be greatly missed, but dearly remembered by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at Nuestra Senova de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque, with rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 1999. Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Sangre de Cristo Hospice, 2500 Camino Entrada, Suite A, Santa Fe, NM 87505. The family would like to thank Meryl, Diane and Trisha RN's, and all the staff for the immeasurable amount of comfort and care they gave to Gilly and his family.
