Obituary for O'neal

Michael L. O'Neal, born 9/3/39, Oakland, Oklahoma, died 10/27/99, after a two year struggle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Nancy; son, Shawn of Cottonport, LA; sister, Kay Simmerly and husband, Dwayne of Ponce City, OK; brother-in-law, Jim Knauer and wife, Peggy of Vancouver, BC; three nieces, Jennifer Leigh and husband, Bryce, Lauren Clegg and husband, Randy of British Columbia, Joy Hicks of Oklahoma; nephews, Jeff Knauer and wife, Jane, and Bruce Knauer of British Columbia; great-nephew, Karson Leigh; and great-niece, Jessica Clegg. He was a Senior Technologist in the Nucleonic Devices Department at Sandia Labs and employed by Sandia for 40 1/2 years. He graduated from Highland High School; attended UNM and received a Technical degree from Western Electronics School. He was a member of Rio Grande Kennel Club, Welsh Terrier Club of America and Irish Terrier Club of America. He loved New Mexico, particularly the Wilderness, where he hunted upland game with his friends. The family wishes to express their profound gratitude to Presbyterian Hospice, especially his nurse Marily Griffin. Mike will be missed greatly by his family and many friends. Cremation has taken place. There will be no services.
